The countdown to New York Fashion Week is upon us, with the action officially kicking off this Friday, and some presentations and shows starting earlier this week. While the new year may already be a month underway, NYFW is really when we start to experience new beginnings and clean slates here in the fashion world, and the fun continues all February long. We learn to expect the unexpected when it comes to fashion week, though we anticipate new and up-and-coming designers making their inaugural debuts, some favorites like Helmut Lang making comebacks after brief hiatuses, and of course, the classics in American fashion we all know and love.
Although the concept of fashion week (or month, really) has evolved and shifted over the years, with the business of retail restructuring, influencers taking over the industry, and the actual value of producing a show in question, much of it remains constant. Fashion week events are still the ultimate places to see and be seen, but nowadays, its less about the shows themselves but rather the parties afterward. In other words, designers no longer really need to put out a killer collection to be the thing everyone’s taking about the next morning. The street style still breeds infinite inspiration, both for those of us who get to see it happening in real time outside Spring Studios and the ones who catch it in digital form. But now, we don’t need fame or coveted positions in elite fashion to be the trend-setters. Social media is a platform we all share, and it is fair game. The iconic editors and buyers, socialites, and celebrities still wow us with their looks, but more and more influencers reserve front row seats as the years go on.
Regardless of what the FW19 collections and the shows the accompany them bring, the changing climate of the industry, and both the predictability and unpredictability of it all, this time brings new light and excitement, and gives us all a little something to look forward to during a cold New York winter.

If you’ve experienced the undeniably satisfying relief that is finding the perfect tee, you likely will never forget it. You have probably worn it down to its fibers, bought it in multiple colors, and may even be wearing it right now. For those of you who are still holding out, have no fear – we’ve got you covered.
Chances are we can find one that checks all the boxes.
If you like it slim…
RE/DONE’s version of the slim tee is going to have a more worn-in vintage feel, with a slight slub effect. Pure cotton with no stretch makes this a simple staple.
If you like it boxy…
If you want a little femme factor to offset the slouchy boyfriend cut, try this NSF scoop neck tee crafted from incredibly soft and smooth pure cotton.
If you like it cropped…
This Cotton Citizen cropped tee is comprised of the perfect combination of cotton, modal, and spandex to provide you with both unmatched comfort and softness, and the ability to retain its shape. Bonus points for the ribbed detail, which makes this slightly different from the other tees in your lineup.
This RE/DONE favorite marries two silhouettes, cropped and boxy, to give you the best of both worlds. There are unlimited possibilities for this one, from a casual denim look to a leather miniskirt and boots for a girls night out.
If you’re all about the tuck…
Elevated details like modal fabrication, ribbing, and elbow length semi-sheer sleeves make this ATM bodysuit stand out amongst your collection. This beloved style will be a more sophisticated and put-together option than the rest.
